Overview
Baltimore Consulting Group are currently working with an established local authority in the South East in their search for an experienced Local Government Commissioning professional to join their directorate as they look to develop a newly formed team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be an experience commissioner to join the Commissioning and Procurement Team to lead and deliver the council's commissioning plan. You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of issues relating to adult social care, proven experience of project management, market monitoring and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the delivery of all commissioning activities to deliver the Council's strategic objectives.
• Play a key role in the evidence based approached adopted by the council to provide value for money and effective services for Kent residents utilising the adult social care service.
• You will work closely with Senior Commissioning Managers in the improvement in processes and support in the portfolio of work.
• Organise and deliver market engagements activities with colleagues across the organisation and with partners. Additional you will work collaboratively with providers and other analytical functions to inform and ensure effective forecasting.
• Ensure effective coordination of commissioned services to support the Council's statutory responsibilities in adult social care.
• Engage with Commercial Teams to ensure the delivery of compliant procurement process, seeking advice where necessary.

About you

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for working closely with colleagues and partners to help build and develop efficient and high performing services.

You will have experience of working within a similar role in commissioning or procurement and will possess highly developed and effective communication skills, excellent organisation skills, knowledge and experience of Local Authority contracts and commissioning.
