My client is a Housing Association based in the Midlands who are looking for a Compliance manager to lead and develop a multi disciplined Compliance Team to effectively manage and deliver key compliance services, day to day and planned repairs.
The role involves:
  • Managing a compliance team
  • Ensuring Health and Safety best practice is observed and monitored within their area of responsibility.
  • Oversee asbestos planning, monitoring and surveys in accordance with SCH Asbestos Management Plan & Policy.
  • Complaints management for Compliance Department
  • To ensure financial discipline is observed across all aspects of the Compliance Team so as to operate within budget at all times, delivering value for money and vigilantly identifying opportunities for efficiencies promptly as they arise and any opportunities for income generation as part of commercial activity.
  • To hold and effectively manage the budgets allocated to you.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in role related subject or significant experience in a senior management position within a compliance environment.
  • General Health & Safety
  • Risk Management
  • Extensive experience in Public Sector Housing or building or maintenance including experience of managing a large team.
  • Extensive experience in working in Public sector Compliance teams
  • Significant management experience of motivating multiple teams to deliver targets and outcomes.
  • Understanding of all building aspects of Housing Law and Practice, Forms of Contract, Right to Buy and Service Charge Legislation
  • A detailed knowledge of current contract and construction practices.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental Protection and Decent Homes Legislation.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of equal opportunities in employment and service delivery
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation frameworks and key issues in the sector, including the regulatory and statutory framework within social housing
