London - 6 Months

Daily Rate £450 - £550 per day

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Head of Service Children in Care and Care Leavers within a Local Authority in London to assist a local authority for a period of approx. 6 months with possibility to extend. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Children, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple teams across all areas of Looked after Children:

• Care Leavers
• Fostering
• Adoption
• Permanency
• Placements and commissioning

As the Head of Service Children in Care you will be managing staff members from ASYE to the Service Managers; therefore, it is essential that you have worked in a similar role within a Local Authority setting. You will be tasked with operational duties and look to reduce spend across the area of service alongside the commissioning team.

This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Service Children in Care who has an innovative approach to delivering quality, and leadership within Childrens Services.

To be successful, you will -

• A proven track record of service, operational improvement in a senior management role
• Experience of working within a Local Authority (This is essential)
• have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and HCPC
• strong communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders across Childrens Services
• Lead cross functional teams in high pressure settings and budgetary management
