SEND Tribunals Officer
South Coast - Local Government
Interim Contract - Inside of IR35
3 months intially, possibility to extend thereafter

My client based on the South Coast are currently looking for an experienced SEND Tribunal Officer for an interim role for approx. 3 months.
This post is within the SEND Assessment and Planning team (Inclusion Special Educational Needs and Disability) to take the lead in working with our legal team to manage appeals to SENDIST (Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunals). You will be responsible for working effectively with parents in order to meet the needs of children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) in their local area and preparing evidence where appropriate for panel. You will have worked across tribunals previously and have experience of working with SEND systems with exemplary knowledge of the 2015 SEND Code of Practice in respect of the tribunal life cycle. Your role will also include representing the Local Authority at Tribunal hearings where necessary.

Accountabilities of this post are:

- To work alongside internal and external stakeholders, including parent/carers, schools, colleges and legal representatives.

- To ensure all documentation linked to SEND appeals are managed effectively in a timely manner.
- Experience of working in a similar role in a Local Authority setting.
