Baltimore consulting is currently working with a London Borough to appoint a Service Manager for their Hospital, Telecare and Access services for a 12 month interim contract to cover maternity leave. With the upcoming winter pressures, you will be pivotal in helping to prepare the authority to manage these demands through service redesign and partnership working with health partners.

As Service Manager - Hospital and Access you will be directly responsible for 4 Team Managers and will work closely with the Director of Adults Services to support with the delivery of several transformation and integration projects including:

  • Hospital DToC- Reducing the level of DToCs in the service and working alongside the NHS services to form integrated discharge pathways
  • Access - managing initial intake demand and helping to form a single point of access within the service
  • Telecare services - evaluation of the current offering and review of the quality of service provided
  • Efficiency - responsible for both staffing and service budgets you will be looking to achieve efficiency savings where possible

Essential experience for Service Manager - Hospital and Access :

• Recent operational experienced at Service Manager level or higher within a local authority setting
• Social care qualified and registered (HCPC registration) is desired but not essential
• Flexibility and creativity to deliver improvement and transformation plans
• Proven track record in reducing DToCs
• Experience in integrated partnership working
• Ability to identity staff development and training needs

This Service Manager - Hospital and Access role will include:

Covering both operational and strategic duties this role will be well suited to an experience Service Manager or Head of Service who can demonstrate flexibility and creativity to improve the quality of offering to service users.
